Hello to all
Are there any burning issues or topics that you would like to hear about or discuss at the summer conference?
Judy Logue has been asked to arrange MAVA speakers for the conference. She is looking for input. Topics for discussion would be welcomed as well as any of you that may enjoy sharing your knowledge with the rest of us!
My email is dcollins@ssvotech.org and Judy's is

Thank you for any and all comments! Happy Spring!

Nurse Aide Exam Site
I want to share a web site that you may find helpful. It is a web site for Nursing Assistant Exams. There are five in total. It is set up as a text. It had helpful hints for test taking for the students. Try it out!

Need of a little Help
Hello All
My apologies for not writing sooner.
I need a little help. Some of the physicians in our vicinity's have agreed to take students in an unpaid externship while the students are in shop. I need some guidance. Does anyone know of any regulations for this. It is not coop but the students would go directly to the office, spend the day and then go home. Students will be going to different offices in different locations. Does anyone do this now? You can either write to me or call.

Happy December
The Health Care Pathways Conference was great. I came away with some good ideas about how important Advisory Members are, Emily Lebo gave some great advice about writing grants and learned how Worcester Tech has learned to barter rent for teaching for their EMT program. I will be looking forward to the end of the year review.
I have some pictures to add to this blog but the camera is in the lab and I am home :) I will post them soon.
There was also a nice collection of vendors at this conference with some nice goodies.
It was great to see some familiar faces and some new ones as well.
I know it will be busy from now until Dec. vacation so, do not stress, everything will get done :) and I will be posting again after the holidays. Until then, Happy Holidays and don't eat too much!

National Healthcare Foundation Skills Assessment
Has anyone heard of this ? It is an assessment from the National Consortium on Health Science & Technology Education. It currently is offering pre and post tests on national foundation skills. The testing is online and is $12.00 per test. I am not endorsing this, just asking if anyone else has heard of it Here is the link of you want to check it out and get back to all of us.
